Official Charleston St. Patrick’s Day Parade

2025 will mark the 28th annual Charleston St. Patrick’s Day Parade, and it’s a great way to celebrate, whether you’re Irish or not.  In fact, it’s the largest gathering of Irish (and Irish at heart) in the state of South Carolina.

The parade is proudly presented by the official Charleston St. Patrick’s Day Parade Committee, the Ancient Order of Hibernians, the South Carolina Irish Historical Society, and the Knights of Columbus (Council 704).

The day kicks off early, at 8:00 a.m. with morning mass at St. Patrick’s Catholic Church.  The church is located at 134 St. Philip Street in downtown Charleston.

The parade itself starts at 10:00 a.m. at a nearby spot  –  the corner of King and Radcliffe Streets.  The parade then travels south down King Street all the way to Broad Street.  It then turns right onto Broad, ending at the Cathedral of St. John the Baptist, located at 120 Broad Street.

The parade will host lots of marching bands, dancers, fiddlers, military units, team mascots, fire trucks, and folks wearing green.  Participants will come from as far away as Oregon for 2025’s parade.

Afterwards, at around 11:30 a.m., head to City Hall, where the Mayor and the Irish Society will raise the Irish flag.
