Gosh, y’all, it’s another award for Charleston. Today, Southern Living magazine named Charleston the Best City in the South for 2017.
The magazine writes:
Charleston is having a moment. Again. Nearly 400 years after a group of enterprising colonists settled the jewel of the Lowcountry, the Holy City continues to cast its spell on visitors far and wide.
The Holy City beat out other Southern hotspots like Savannah, Georgia; New Orleans, Louisiana; Nashville, Tennessee; and Asheville, North Carolina.
Southern Living also gave a nod to Charleston’s incredible cuisine:
Charleston, which has made Southern cuisine not only a serious subject, but a globally renown destination to experience it from the culinary cathedral Husk to soul food sanctuary Martha Lou’s and Southeast Asian sensation Xiao Bao Biscuit.
Those of us lucky enough to call Charleston home appreciate her charms on a daily basis. We’re glad others see what we do.
