One of the latest water activities to make a splash here in Charleston is stand up paddleboarding or SUP for short. A form of surfing, SUP is just what it says: standing up on a board similar to a surfboard and paddling the waves.
Charleston is a great place to trying SUP because we have so many creeks and waterways outside the ocean that provide a calm ride, especially for beginners. And our waves aren’t particularly large in this area so SUP is fun in the ocean too.
If you’ve wanted to try stand up paddleboarding, now’s your chance! We’ve partnered with Nature Adventure Outfitters to give away two four-hour SUP rentals at the Shem Creek location in Mount Pleasant. Also, check out Nature Adventure Outfitters on Facebook.
